THIS  SEASON

As the long Arctic winter finally gives in to spring, the snow begins to melt and nature starts waking up from its lengthy hibernation. Once the ground warms up, false morsel mushrooms start appearing in open sunny forestal areas and roadsides, marking the start of the fertile Nordic growing season.

First of May is a day of celebration in Finland. There’s even a traditional drink for the occasion – mead – which is a fermented, lemon-based refreshment made with raisins.
